Privacy notice

This site is operated under the Value Matters brand by Value Matters Associates Ltd (registration in progress; company number and registered office will appear here on completion). In this notice, "we" means that company, which is the data controller for the information described below.
The short version
This site sets no tracking cookies and shows no advertising. We collect your email address only if you give it to us, and we use it only for the things you gave it to us for: sending you a resource you asked for, or the newsletter you subscribed to. You can leave at any time and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
What we collect and why
Email addresses. If you subscribe to the newsletter or request a gated resource, we collect your email address in order to deliver what you asked for. If you subscribe, we use your email only to send what you asked for. We will name the provider here when that account is live.
The Whole Wallet email. The share of wallet tool runs entirely in your browser. If you ask for your result by email, we send the numbers you typed, the customer name if you gave one, and the strategy to the address you give, using Resend (transactional email, USA), and we record your address and a short summary of the result in Kit (our mailing list provider, USA) so we know what we sent you. If you tick the newsletter box we will also send the fortnightly newsletter, which you can stop with one click in any issue. The numbers themselves are not stored by us beyond that record. Lawful basis: you asked for the email; consent for the newsletter.
Contact form. If you use the form on our contact page, your message (name, email, company if given, and what you wrote) is delivered to us by Netlify Forms and lands in our inboxes. We keep it for as long as the conversation requires. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in responding to you.
Contact emails. If you email us directly, we keep the correspondence for as long as the conversation and any resulting business relationship requires. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to you.
Technical logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, records standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and operations. We do not use these to identify visitors.
Analytics. We do not run advertising analytics. If we add an analytics tool, we will name it here.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not run advertising or advertising trackers. We do not use marketing cookies, which is why this site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run this site: Netlify (hosting and forms, USA), Resend (sending the emails you ask for, USA) and Kit (mailing list, USA). An analytics provider will be named here once that account is live. Where providers are outside the UK, transfers rely on their standard contractual safeguards. Booking tools, when offered, are provided by the named provider under their own terms.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to or restrict our use of it. Email us and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
